How it works
A bi-directional meter records units imported from and exported to the grid. You pay only for the net units.
Since solar units are deducted first, they knock off your most expensive slabs — which is why homes save so much.
Surplus at year end
Units exported beyond your consumption are bought by the DISCOM at the MERC-notified rate (₹2.82/unit from April 2026).
Larger systems
Systems above 10 kW attract grid support charges in Maharashtra. Homes with systems up to 10 kW are not affected.
