7 steps — we handle every one.
- 1Register on the national portal
We register your electricity connection on pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your DISCOM and consumer number.
- 2Apply for rooftop solar
Application with system size and vendor details is submitted online.
- 3DISCOM feasibility approval
MSEDCL checks technical feasibility and approves the application.
- 4Installation with DCR panels
We install the system using ALMM-listed domestic (DCR) panels as the scheme requires.
- 5Net meter & inspection
We apply for the net meter; DISCOM inspects and installs the bi-directional meter.
- 6Commissioning certificate
System is commissioned and the commissioning report is generated on the portal.
- 7Subsidy in your bank
Bank details are submitted and the central subsidy is credited directly to your account.
Your meter runs backwards.
A bi-directional net meter records what you import from and export to MSEDCL. You pay only for net units — and because solar removes your most expensive slabs first, homes save the most.

Typically ₹55,000–75,000 per kW before subsidy, depending on brand and structure. A 3 kW on-grid system usually costs ₹1.5–1.9 lakh, and after the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy the net cost is roughly ₹0.8–1.1 lakh.
